'Furious' Eclipse
O’Connor’s racing car in the Fast and the Furious was affectionately known simply as 2the green car" by movie buffs, the ’95 Eclipse was a modified version of an already potent Japanese coupe. A 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine, with an aluminium cylinder head, and dual-overhead-cam sixteen valve configuration, produced 210-horsepower and 205 lb.-ft. of torque, from the factory. Additional fuel delivery, air induction, and turbocharger/intercooler upgrades have boosted current ratings to 435-horsepower and 324 lb.-ft. of torque. The original car was borrowed from John Lapid, a Los Angeles auto tuner of some note, then repainted and duplicated for movie production. Exterior effects included a Robocar Aero Armor Eclipse body kit, an ARP GT2 wing, and a set of Axis Sport Tuning rims.
